Greek Cuisine
Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.
Today, you can find hundreds of restaurants offering authentic Greek food or popularly termed as Mediterranean cuisine in New York city alone. People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. One thing which most people like about these authentic Greek dishes is abundant use of lemon juice, olive oil, fresh rosemary and sea salt. A smart mix of few ingredients can virtually take you on the pebble streets of beautiful city of Greece.
For those who don't have time to enjoy fine dining should try tasting the famous souvlaki with pita which is type of meat dish, also a trademark Greek fast food. For those who are vegetarian, or vegan can try different versions of Greek Salad. So, if you wish to enjoy a hearty yet healthy meal that tastes divine then try dining at the best Greek restaurant in your city. every time I go in the wait staff is amazing especially the blonde girl Katey. Silverware is always so clean. And the food is amazing

Food was good but the wait staff seemed stressed out and not too friendly. Will try them again sometime down the road.

Food not bad whether it's for a quick sit down breakfast or a easy dinner carry out.

My wife and I stopped here when we happened to be in the area and only mildly hungry. Though the vegetarian choices are limited, I did get a decent, albeit saucy, teryaki vegetable stir fry. My wife did better with her breakfast food (they serve it all day - big plus). Her pancakes were tasty and accompanied by a slice of real ham (not out of a can). Alex's does need to work on waitstaff decorum. We were greeted by an argument between the head cashier and two waitresses when we entered (it took a couple of minutes for them to notice us). Our waitress, while not unkind, did seem a little tone deaf in her communication with us (an odd trait in a service person who depends upon tips). Overall, Alex's is nothing special but an acceptable choice (especially if you want breakfast food at an odd hour).

I drive by here all the time and like to support local, small businesses so I decided to give it a try. Wasn't impressed at all. I went for breakfast with a friend and the wait staff wasn't particularly friendly, or social by any means. It seemed like they took quite a while for our food, when there were very few customers in the dining area. Ordered the Bacon and Cheese Omelette and my friend ordered the Greek Omelette. The portion sizes were just okay, the eggs were a little dry and didn't seem to have that "wow" factor at all. The toast wasn't buttered and I left a little hungry and not satisfied. I should have went to Ram's Horn.

Miserable staff, called to put in a order over the phone for pick up and the lady was rude from the word "hello" plenty of other places I'd rather give my money to.
(2)Debbie M.
The blonde/tan hostess seems like she hates working there. Our waitress was nice. They promptly brought out my husbands and daughters breakfast, however I ordered the veal parm and substituted for mashed potatoes. They bring out chicken parm with spaghetti, I send it back the cook messes up again I hear our waitress arguing with him so I told her to just take it off the bills. Will not eat here again and do not recommend. Staff doesn't seem like they know what they are doing.

Alex's is the Best Family restaraunt around. A cut above the rest. Reminds me of the great restaraunts in Vegas.

Working toward becoming "regulars". Shockingly delicious with friendly staff and nice decor. Way better than your average, blan diner. The charbroiled chicken is a must!, as is their strawberry chicken salad, shish-kabob, and short ribs...this is as far as I've gotten amongst the vast options. Stop in, you will not be disappointed. NOTE: Gotta love that the owner (George) stops by to check on the food and service. Love this place. Thank you George and team.

Is there such a thing as greek comfort food ? If so, Alex's serves it. Still one of my favorites for a quick stop in ...greek salad, coney dog, and a bottomless ice tea. All the waitress are quick and friendly.

Me and my fiance come here every now and again. Their food has been mediocre at best. The service is very sporadic it depends on who you get. Not very friendly. Their food is ok and the value is okay but I will not be returning. They do have great burgers and a very cozy atmosphere. I don't know if I'll be going back definitely not in a hurry.

Great family restaurant. Good service and great food

We eat ar Alex's about once every other week. Good food at good prices with good people. A comfortable place to visit with the family & everybody can pick a meal that they like. Parking gets tight sometimes but there's always a space.
(5)Karmen F.
Good, clean diner. I love the omelettes and the service is always great. Even on a busy Sunday morning the staff is happy to serve you and it's never too hard to get a table. They serve breakfast all day which is awesome and I like that the food is typical diner fare but not greasy. Easy access location from M-59 and close to major shopping makes this diner the perfect place to meet friends/family or stop for a bite to eat while out and about.
(3)Billy J.
Great food at a great price. For the money, you get a great portion of food. The waitress always want you, the customer, to be happy. They are willing to do anything to make sure you are in a great mood during and after your meal. They have great lunch specials, make sure you try one of those.
(4)Jenny Z.
Service can vary depending on the waitress, but generally I'm pretty happy every time I go to Alex's! I love their all-day breakfast menu, so that's what I usually go for, but I also enjoy their stir-fry dishes, soups, and the sides that I've tried. I had pasta once, and it was just okay. Overall, though, the ample seating, family atmosphere, fair prices, and pretty good comfort food make this one of my regular choices when eating out.
(4)J D.
Fast service, and a REALLY diverse menu. A step above your average diner, but they've got all the staples as well.
(5)Jessca S.
A co-worker recommended I order their grilled chicken breast salad, she orders it all the time and had nothing but good words to say. The first time I ordered one (a month or so ago), it was great! The chicken breast was huge, they used a mix of lettuces and the veggies were fresh. American cheese on a salad was a little weird, but, whatever. Then I ordered it again yesterday... iceberg lettuce. Most of which was white or light green/yellow. There were very few veggies.... I'm officially not returning. Very disappointed.

Alex's is my family's go to restaurant when we don't feel like cooking. The majority of the time we are all happy with the food. Casual but good! The service however is awful! The waitresses and manager are rude and seem put off and miserable. We have switched to carry out as to not have to deal with them for too long.
(3)Kelly R.
Great family restaurant! They have a great selection of food choices on their menu, prices are reasonable, and the restaurant is very clean and has a pleasant atmosphere. The only questionable component is the service. Kristina and Jackie are really great, but some of the others are terrible. The hostess with the long blond hair (I believe she's the owner's daughter) is very rude. Overall, it's a great place though, and the food is always good.
(4)Robert B.
The waitress acted put off and the food was so-so.
(2)Valerie M.
I've seen this restaurant in the area but today was the first day I decided to actually stop and try their food. My husband and I stopped in for lunch. I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the table and some of the glassware. The service was friendly and timely. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger which was cooked to order and my husband had eggs and waffles. My only complaint was the sanitary conditions. The food and service were top notch!
(4)Katie J.
I LOVE Alex's! The food is great. The service is great. Everyone is always very attentive and friendly. Even when it's busy, there isn't much of a wait and service is always quick also. It's very reasonably priced and I've never eaten something that I didn't like. Definitely a place to check out!
(5)Amanda K.
Awesome food at good prices. Hardly ever a wait and we love the location. Most of the staff is nice. Once in a while we will get a waitress that is a little snooty, but their tip definitely reflects that! I recommend the Lemon Rice soup and the Lamb Shank. The Lamb Shank is only on special, I believe its on the weekends.
(4)Kelly S.
Similar setting to a Ram's Horn type restaurant. The restaurant is clean and inviting. The wait staff are friendly and attentive. The food is fresh, generous and at a good price I had the 1/2 order of Fish and Chips, there were 2 large pieces of fried fish with a light, crispy batter served with hot french fries. Loved the fresh, crispy salad with cucumbers and red onions.
(4)Matt W.
I was the youngest person in here by a good 30 years. Think of this as the Mae's for old people.
(4)Annmarie N.
Ordered the fish and chips with clam chowder. The clam chowder was very bland and pasty, no hint of cream and very little clam and no flavor. The bread was not fresh. The fish had good flavor and was cooked properly. The fries were good. Overall not worth a repeat visit.
(2)Katie W.
Amazing food and service!!! Friendly atmosphere also!
(5)N W.
You get a lot of food for the price. I've never had anything I didn't like and we come here once per week. Salads area always crisp, and the desserts are awesome. Most of the servers genuinely care about their customers. What I didn't care for was the attitude of one particular young waitress - the one with the long black hair that always looks tanned. She needs to learn proper manners on how to treat customers. On more than one occasion she treated us poorly - rude rude rude each time. She never came back to check on us or refill our waters. The tip we left was reflected by the poor service she provided. Since then, we avoid being seated in her area. For this reason I am only giving this place three stars.
(3)Kera R.
This is a great place. I love the breakfast foods and the service is great! It's very affordable which makes it one of my favorite places to bring the kids. I love that after the first time I went there they recognized me and were very warm and welcoming. Just an all around great family friendly restaurant.
(4)Nic B.
Had a greek salad and lemon rice salad. Iceburg n all the cheap fixins.. Acceptable. Nothing special. Lemon rice was alright. Other plates looked pretty good if you want "home cookin" greezy std fare and dont feel like cookin it at home.
(2)Ron T.
Awesome Lemon Rice soup
(5)Rachel B.
This was a good diner. Three of us stopped in for breakfast. At 2 pm. At a diner, breakfast is always possible! I wasn't overly impressed with the omelets or hash browns. They were a little bland and unimaginative. The coffee was great, though, and the service was quick and the waitress a bit strange, just like it should be. A very good Greek diner which probably has great soups and desserts, like any self-respecting diner should. Perhaps next time I shall sample some!

Good family style dining in Rocheater Hills. I have also tried the one in Berkley, but I like this one better. Lots of choices on the menu, good-size portions and decent service. Reasonal prices for their entrees especially on prime rib. The best lemon chicken rice soup!
(3)Nicole A.
My mom ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS comes to this place. If she doesn't feel like cooking and wants me to come out and go somewhere? It's this place. To the point that they just bring her a lemonade when we sit down because it's what she orders. Big portions, lots of choices, decently priced. I love their chicken lemon rice, and the bread basket you get for your orders, oh and the rice pudding! I don't ever come for breakfast, but I do love their lunch and dinners. The service is a bit of a hit or miss, but the owner is always there sitting at the counter and is friendly and helps out the waitresses when things get backed up.
(4)Andrea S.
Love this place for a quick dinner. Their Italian food is quite good - they make their own sauce and I'm a fan. Love the grilled chicken skewers, any of the Italian dishes and my husband likes their meatloaf, rice pudding. Friendly service, great place.
(4)Jodi R.
They used to be good. Today, however, we needed to speak with the waitress about a dietary restriction and instead of listening to us or trying to help us, she walked away while we were discussing our needs. Needless to say, we promptly paid for my ice tea and left. Only then did she come back to talk to us but at that point I had nothing to say to her.
(1)Jennifer W.
This place is the best! You walk in and think it's just another diner with the standard fare, but once you sit down and you look at the menu you soon change your opinion. Their choices are huge, you can get just about everything you could think of there. The portions are enormous and the quality is amazing. Everyone is super friendly when you walk in as well. The only time we have ever had to wait is on Sunday morning for breakfast. We love stopping here for breakfast, lunch, or dinner because it has never disappointed us!!
(5)Shannon K.
Was ok. Not great, not terrible, just meh. Oldest son had decent pancakes, very diner-like. Youngest had basic scrambled eggs with bacon. Again very ordinary. I had 2 eggs over easy, hash (from a can :-( ,) hash browns and toast. Toast not toasted, more like buttered bread. Hash browns crispy on outside, cold on inside. Hubby had eggs Benedict special. Looked awesome, but had surprisingly little flavor. Waitress got irritated with us when after asking to have our empty plates removed, they still sat, so we put them on the next table. Won't go back.

I visited this establishment one night after spending a long day at the hospital with my Giagia (which if you don't know, is Greek for grandmother) and all I wanted was soup, mainly because everything else sounded like it would be too much work to eat. And order soup I did (some of the best Avgolemono available outside of my Giagia's kitchen). I also had a chicken gyro because it sounded good and my Giagia wouldn't have been happy if I didn't eat more than just soup, I need it for my "strenth!" My affinity for good Greek (and American) food aside, this place has a nice family atmosphere and is incredibly reasonable in the price area. I only wish it was closer to me so that I could go back more often.
(5)Phillip B.
went for breakfast and had horrible service and the food quality didn't live up to what I had at my last visit.
(2)Amanda S.
We go to Alex's at least twice a month. We love the food and the people. We usually sit in Linda's section. She always remembers our 2 year old and makes us feel welcome. Great family place.
(5)Val W.
Excellent family dining restaurant. Great atmosphere, great service, great selection. There is literally almost anything you can think of offered here. Breakfast is also offered any time of day. We will definitely be eating here on a regular basis.
(5)Cheryl C.
Good Greek food? Decidedly not! Better Greek salad, lemon rice soup, and gyros at Kerby's. My chicken gyro contained chicken as dry as jerky and so much ranch dressing (not tzaziki) that I had to scrape it off. Pita was stale so it was hard and wouldn't roll. Owner sat on bar stool and did nothing to expedite a busy lunch service.
(2)Jocelyn M.
Yum! Never had a complaint eating here! Keep in mind, they are super busy Sunday mornings and there's no waiting room/chairs, etc. If the parking lot is full, they are full inside! Their breakfasts are delicious, especially the greek omelet.
(5)Brian C.
Great family restaurant. Excellent soups. Big portions. Greek/American food at it's best.
(4)Dan M.
100% Better the other family restaurants of the same style in the area.
(5)Maryam M.
bad!!! deceiving!!! they had shish kabob made of pork . i dont eat pork, and the menu didnt say pork as the ingredient.i ate it now disgusted!!!
